Grilled tuna fillets marinated with ouzo, anise and thyme

A delicious recipe for tuna fish fillets with a sauce that gives something special to the whole dish

Ingredients (for 4 people):
4 fresh tuna fillets (about 180gr. each)
3 tbsp of ouzo
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 lemon, the juice and the zest
1 tsp of ground anise seeds
2 tsp of thyme
4 sundried tomatoes, finely chopped
salt
pepper

Method:
Wash the fish fillets well and pat dry. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides and place in a large bowl.

In another bowl put the oil, the ouzo, the thyme, the anise, the zest and the juice of the lemon and stir well. Add the tomatoes and stir again.

Pour over the fish with the marinade, cover the bowl with cling film and leave in the fridge for 2 hours. During this time turn the fillets 1-2 times to help marinating evenly on both sides.

Take the fish fillets off the marinade, which you keep aside in a small saucepan. Place the fillets in a shallow oven dish and cook under the grill in medium temperature for about 3-4 minutes on each side (more or less, depending on your preference).

Put the saucepan with the marinade on medium heat and leave it to come to the boil, stirring with a wooden spoon until it reduces a bit and slightly thickens.

Serve the fish fillets while they are still hot pouring over with the ouzo sauce and accompany with steamed potatoes or rice pilaf and a green salad.
