Simple and easy but very tasty and filling recipe. Great for vegetarians but also for those who fast during this period if they omit the grated cheese. The ingredients balance together nicely and the pesto has a different and distinctive flavour thanks to the tahini paste

Bucatini with slowly cooked rich meat sauce scented with mild spices
Who can resist a dish full of tasty pasta poured with a luscious meat sauce on top? Not many people I think and it is one of our favourite dishes at home. We love pasta and I have a special reference to the thick macaroni and I think this recipe tastes always better with such a kind of pasta! Biased? Maybe...:-) This meat sauce is inspired, in a way, from the Italian bolognese (cooked by an excellent cook with roots back to Italy) but at the same time it is fully adjusted to the habits of cooking we follow in Greece when it comes to such kind of recipes. It is a really family-friendly recipe and the type of comfort-food suitable for all seasons!

Pastitsio with vegetables and rigatoni
What a delicious dish to offer to the family!! Pastitsio is one of our favourite dishes although I don't cook it every week because it is high in calories... Personally, what makes me such a big fan of pastitsio is the luscious béchamel sauce on top. I remember when I was a kid pleading to my mother to make a little bit more béchamel than the quantity she would need so to have the chance to eat it with the spoon from the saucepan! Here we have a different version thanks to the addition of the bacon and the vegetables and although the classic pastitsio remains always my favourite this one came out very tasty, hearty and filling

Whole wheat spaghetti with a creamy turkey and leeks ragoût sauce
An effort to enjoy pasta in the most possible light way! An effort which is quite successful since the ground turkey replaces other meats in the best way and blends so nicely with the leeks in this light but luscious ragoût sauce! The wholewheat pasta makes things even lighter and you end up with a very family and calorie-friendly meal

Easy penne dish with pumpkin, thyme, parsley and lighter creamy cheese sauce
Nice and easy pasta recipe for something different to cook during the week and while pumpkin is still in season. The original recipe includes a special Greek low-fat cheese (white with creamy texture) called "Katiki" coming from the Domokos area in Central Greece. It is ideal for spreading and as a dip but also is used in various salads, savoury pies and other recipes. *** Not so easy to be found abroad but for the specific recipe it can be replaced by cottage cheese or soft-texture Feta cheese mixed with a couple of tablespoons of milk so to thin it out

Rigatoni with feta cheese pesto and roast cherry tomatoes
One of the easiest pasta dishes! One of those which the good old housewives (like my mother) would call "laziness cooking"... mainly to indicate how free you can feel to improvise in cooking or when not too many ingredients or complicated method are involved.
