Another seafood meze. So tasty and so simple to cook! A great company to other mezes during the Summer together with ouzo or beer
Ingredients (for 4 people):
1 whole large octopus (fresh or frozen)
2-3 tbsp of plain vinegar
1 tea-cup of water
2-3 tbsp of olive oil
salt
pepper
oregano
few drops of Tabasco
Method:
Clean the octopus and cut the tentacles and the hood into medium pieces. Put them in a plastic or glass bowl, add the vinegar and the water and let it soak for about 2 hours.
Get a large heavy bottomed frying pan and put the octopus in along with the water and the vinegar from the bowl.
Let it simmer in medium heat stirring every now and then and when the water has evaporated and the octopus has soften add the olive oil, very little salt (the octopus is salty by nature), the pepper, the oregano and the tabasco.
Fry for 4-5 minutes and serve immediately.
