Mini phyllo pastry milk pies with seasonal fresh fruits
The recipe of these creamy, cute and delicious tartelettes with phyllo is based on the traditional "Galatopita" (milk pie) dessert which is served all around Greece in different versions all year through. Galatopita is a very popular dessert because it can be served warm or cold so it is an all-season light dessert with or without pastry depending on the region it comes from. These mini milk pies are ideal to serve along with your coffee or at a party and as for the fruits you can use those you like most depending on the season

Braised chicken in saffron and wine sauce
A really delicious recipe to cook the chicken where the distinctive flavour and aroma of saffron in the sauce makes the difference! Not many or fancy ingredients are needed for this recipe because the saffron is more than enough to offer a special taste to the dish. Cooking in low heat keeps the chicken moist and tender. The ideal company for this recipe is a nice and simple risotto

Easy savoury Myzithra cheese and Florina red peppers cake
A great savoury cake to enjoy as a snack or to serve at a party or to take with you to a picnic. Kids will love it because it is something easy to handle and eat and the flavours are mild for them. The original recipe involves the Florina red peppers but the customary red bell peppers suit the recipe just fine. The aged Myzithra cheese I would recommend not to be replaced by another cheese because its distinctive flavour only enriches the cake but, of course, if you can't find it then the Italian pecorino or parmesan can be used

Spicy bulgur "pilaf" with aubergines as an alternative to a classic dish with rice
Bulgur (which is nothing more than broken wheat) was always a big part of the Greek cuisine especially when ingredients like rice were not easy to be found. To be honest I was never a fan of bulgur (or couscous for that matter or other similar ingredients). I have tasted it but I didn't like it and I was avoiding to cook it at home, simple as that! On the other hand, I do love rice a lot and often, when bulgur was included in a recipe, I was using rice instead when possible:-)) But I decided that it was time to try it out and this chance appeared when I first discovered this recipe last year. I was curious to see how a Greek popular recipe with rice (rice pilaf with aubergines) would taste with bulgur. I can't say that I loved the dish but I didn't hate it either and actually I have cooked the recipe 2-3 times since then but still I'm not convinced that bulgur and I would meet again soon! There is nothing wrong with the recipe, on the contrary! It's only the fact that some things in life are not for everybody... But for those who love such ingredients this is a great dish to try out!

Fluffy turkey burgers with sauté vegetables - A lighter but tasty attempt for "junk food" made at home
Replacing the beef with ground turkey and the fries (okay, not always...) with some tasty sautéed vegetables we could end up with a really delicious alternative to the customary burgers made at home for the whole family! The burgers keep fluffy and moist thanks to the carrot in the mixture and the herbs add to the flavour. The vegetables cooked almost to a caramelised state are really delicious and all of these ingredients gathered together create a really filling meal which even the kids will like!
